Transgender & Domestic Violence Victims Representation

Mark P McAuliffe is committed to serving the legal interests of transgender people and the LGBTQ community in New Jersey and New York. The Transgender community is disproportionately discriminated against in employment, housing, in public places, in their access to restrooms, access to health care, and in asserting their true identities. It is simply unacceptable for this extraordinarily brave community to be victimized by violence, harassment marginalization and the deprivation of basic human rights.

Pro Bono Services For Transgender Individuals In New Jersey

Mr. McAuliffe serves as a pro bono attorney with the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund (TLDEF), filing name change applications for indigent transgender people in Northern New Jersey.

Mr. McAuliffe graciously welcomes referrals and is prepared to assist the transgender and the broader LGBTQ community with all of their legal needs.

Alternatives To Domestic Violence Program

Mark P McAuliffe also serves as a pro bono attorney through the Alternatives to Domestic Violence Program in Bergen County, New Jersey. In this capacity, Mr. McAuliffe represents victims of domestic violence in their quest to obtain final restraining orders.

Frequently, victims of domestic violence are coerced by their abusers into surrendering the protections afforded to them by a restraining order. For reasons economic, emotional, or otherwise, these victims, who are of limited means, or in the alternative are dependent upon their spouses or their significant others for financial support, do not have the resources to hire an attorney. The Alternatives to Domestic Violence program (ADV) assign attorneys to qualified individuals so that their rights can be adequately protected.
